Enda Kenny Bends Rules To Give
His Friend And Advisor A Year Increase of 35K
4th December 2011

It’s been exposed  that Enda Kenny told the Department of Finance to bend the rules on pay rates for advisors so that his former advisor Ciaran Conlon could be awarded a pay increase of 35 thousand euros.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Enda Kenny made the order last March, when he was elected Taoiseach. He wrote to the Secretary General at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and asked that the Government’s self imposed salary cap of 92,000 euros per year, be breached, so that his former advisor of eight years, Ciaran Conlon, be given a new annual salary of 127 thousand euros.

At this time, both the Finance Minister Michael Noonan and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, argued that the 35,000 pay increase for Mr. Conlon was not merited. However, the Taiseach, who had just appointed Ciaran Conlon to become special advisor to the Jobs Minister Richard Bruton, insisted it was still appropriate that the pay hike be awarded in this “specific case. ” After much negotiation – the pay increase was granted.

The news of this breach to our pay guidelines comes just hours before Enda Kenny is due to make an historic address to the nation. It’s expected in his 10 minutes televised speech, the Taoiseach will stress the need for everyone to take the pain of cutting our massive national deficit.

Child Benefit To Be Slashed Again Despite
Promise Between Labours' Gilmore & Fine Gael
20th November 2011

It remains to be seen with the reported coming of more cuts to child benefit (at least another €10 a child) if Mr Eamon Gilmore will finally stand up to Fine Gael and their promise not to further cut child benefit. Last February Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore promised that Fine Gael would have to abandon plans to slash child benefit if it was to have Labour as a partner in Government. The Irish people will have to wait to see if Mr Gilmore will finally find some bravery in order to stand up to "U-turn Enda" Kenny and his enforcing this lates cut, despite saying he wouldn't so he come get into power!

Given the number of u-turns so far, its not likely and Gilmore once more will cower to Enda Kenny's commands. Will Gilmore be seen to PR bang a few tables/podiums with his fist, make loud noise for the cameras - then meekly accept this latest u-turn and cower to Kenny like a good lapdog? So far with the amount of u-turns its appears Gilmore has accepted his junior role as Enda Kenny is treating him and the whole Labour party as - to use and abuse!

"We Will Not Introduce A Rise In Student Fees"
Pre-election Fine Gael - 2010

"Coming Soon - A Rise In Student Fees!"
Post election Fine Gael - 2011

16th Nov' 2011

Looks like Fine Gael once again have been caught foing more U-turns! with just around a year in power, yet again their positions have changes nearly more times than the Irish weather! They were accused in the Dail of cheating students during elsection time, in order to win their votes and tell them what they wanted to hear. Once they got into power... well things changed!

Noonan: ‘I never promised I’d burn senior bondholders’

Really?

Noonan intends to burn AIB, Irish Nationwide Bondholders

Is his memory as bad as Mr Bertie Aherns
or just more "promised" two sided word play by a typical politician?

Uturn.JPG

Issue One:
Labour and Fine Gael Gives Away 780 Million to
Unguarrenteed Anglo Bondholders Today

2nd Novermber 2011

In a turn around agasint their election running words spoken, the two government parties today have given a massive lump of money away to forigne gamblers. This a payout - one of more to come! With 1.25 Billion to be givern away in a similar vein in January and another Billion then thereafter that!
The government meanwhile is spinning that "the buyers of the bonds will not reinvest" but many in opposition and in major European accountancy firms say this is absolute rubbish. They point out what many know - and insist Labour/Fine Gael knows (but won't publically admit) - that many of the original bondholders sold them off some time ago

Issue Two:
Labour and Fine Gael REFUSE to allow debate about massive payout.

In a stunning sign of undemocratic means and clamp down on free speech, the two government parties have refused to allow anyone to question their actions in the Irish Dail. See example news report here and thus ensured that a walkout from the Dail took place. Something that had not been done since the the early foundation of the state!

So Much For Statements Made At Elections.
Fine Gael Say One thing - Do Another!
13 July 2011

In another latest reversal of words spoken pre-election, Enda Kenny went back on his words spoken in support of Roscommon Hospital and cut its services. Health Minister James Reilly was also challenged at the party's parliamentary meeting to say how many promises he made on local hospitals before the general election.

Mr Kenny meanwhile faces disquiet from backbenchers about the expulsion of Mr Naughten. Denis Naughten a once FG TD - now another independent, spoke out again the blatant reversal of his fellow members position and words. In follow-up return then, Enda requested that he clar out his office. Denis for speaking up, lost the Fine Gael whip after he failed to support the party in a Dáil vote last week on the downgrading of Roscommon County Hospital.

The whole matter has blown up due to a 'publicly known commitment Enda Kenny made himself in regard to Roscommon Hospital - but once n power, quickly moved away from earlier stated intentions during election time.

Day Three - Promises Broken Already!
11th March 2011

Its only day three and the new goernment has goten off to a start Fianna Fail members would be proud of! Mr Kenny is forced to defend his decision to appoint 15 junior minister - after promising exactly two years ago today to reduce the number of posts to 12. Enda Kenny names the 15 junior ministers - nine for Fine Gael and six for Labour.
Kenny appointed the same number of junior ministers as the outgoing government on €130,000-per-year each. Kenny admitts he had made the commitment two years ago, but used an excuse that it had not been included in Fine Gael's general election policy or the coalition's Programme for Government - so they could get away with backtracking on their own words to the people of Ireland!

Fianna Fail would certaily be proud of them if they keep up this rate of u-turns. More details here.

FG & Labour To Ditch Pledges On Economy.
Link: http://lnw.me/RkCXzV
06 March 2011

Here is a few more...

Bondholders

“Is it Labour’s way or Frankfurt way” – Eamon Gilmore; “Fine Gael in
Government will force certain classes of bondholders to share in the cost of
recapitalising troubled financial institutions” – Manifesto.

In government, they refuse to impose losses on the €3.5 billion of unsecured,
unguaranteed senior bondholders at Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Nationwide
Building Society (INBS).
They are still refusing to burn them! Amazing!

Third Level Fees

“Labour is opposed to third-level fees by either the front or back doors” –
Gilmore.

Now Quinn refuses to rule out increased student fees in the future.
Student Services Charge.
NOW FEES HAVE GONE UP!

Quinn signed a USI election pledge to reverse the €500 increase in the
Student Services Charge in Budget 2011.

Refused to do so once in Government, and won’t rule out increases to it in the
future.

Recapitalisation

Varadkar said that not another “red cent” would be put into the banks.

The Central Bank announced in March 2011 that the banks would require
€24bn. €19bn of this met by the taxpayer July 2011.
Another 1.25 BILLION going to the banks in bailout in January 2012!

Bank Directors

Pledged to “re-structure boards and replace and directors who presided over
failed lending practices.”

BOI appointed 4 pre-2008 directors; AIB has 3 non-exec directors still in
place; Irish Life and Permanent still has one.
Force Banks to Cut their Interest Rates

The Programme for Government promised that banks in receipt of state
support would be forced to forego a 25 basis point increase on their variable
rate mortgage.

Despite cuts by the ECB to interest rates, NIB is pressing ahead with raising
rates, and other banks are refusing to lower theirs.

Sell the EBS

During the election Fine Gael pledged to sell EBS.

EBS has now been merged with AIB.

Medium Term Loans to Irish Banks

Michael Noonan “We need medium-term facilities from the ECB so that the
liquidity problems in the Irish banks are not addressed on a fortnightly basis
with a rollover of the liquidity funding every two weeks.”

It now appears this is not going to happen – The ECB rejected it.

The EU-IMF Deal

The EU/IMF deal was a “bad deal for Ireland.” ( Eamon Gilmore), “a disaster
and an obscenity” (Micheal Noonan)

After election: Eamon Gilmore said: “It was never going to be the case that
the renegotiation of the agreement was something that was going to be done
in one great big bang.”

Income Tax

FG 5 point plan: No new taxes including no income tax increases

Minister Noonan: “I am not going to rule out any tax initiative, or any tax
increase or any tax reduction.”
Universal Social Charge NOW INCREASED TO €132 A MONTH

The PfG states: “We will review the Universal Social Charge”.

No review now forthcoming; Noonan robustly defends the levy in the Dail
saying the “universal social charge is progressive.” He added: “It is hard to
argue that is regressive; that is one of the more progressive taxes one will
find.”

Budget 2011

FG & Lab voted against Budget 2011.

Now it seems they’re only too happy to take ownership of the budget and
boast about the adjustments that have been achieved to date.

More Pay Cuts to Public Servants

They opposed the public sector pension levy – “It is a crude and unfair
system.” (Brendan Howlin)

Now they won’t rule out more cuts to public service pay.

Jobs Budget

FG promised a Jobs Budget within 100 days.

The jobs budget then became a mere revenue neutral “jobs initiative”, with no
jobs target.

Getting People Back to Work

FG Election Slogan: Let’s Get Ireland Working

Latest Live Register figures show unemployment stagnant – the jobs initiative
failed, the New Era jobs didn’t materialise, and the Medium Term Fiscal
Statement acknowledges unemployment will rise next year.

New Era Jobs

Enda Kenny boasted that “New Era plan will create over 105,000 jobs.”

At its launch in Sept, there was no mention of jobs it would create, and no
mention of cost.

New Era Funding

The Programme for Government and the Fine Gael manifesto state that it
would funded through the sale of state assets.

However, the EU/IMF agreement clearly states -“It is important to make
effective use of our state assets and, where appropriate, dispose of them to
help reduce our government debt.”

State Assets

Programme for Government: “We will target up to €2 billion in sales of nonstrategic
state assets.”

It now looks like up to €5bn of assets, strategic or otherwise, will be sold.

Strategic Investment Bank

The Programme for Government states “we will establish a Strategic
Investment Bank”.

Kenny, September 2011: “A Strategic Investment Bank would be difficult to
implement in current market conditions.”

Upward Only Rent Reviews

The Programme for Govt states: “We will legislate to end upward only rent
reviews for existing leases.”

Each time the Justice Minister has been asked about it, he’s fudged the issue.
Protecting the Low Paid

Labour Manifesto pledged to reform JLCs in a way that protects the most
vulnerable workers.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton is dragging his feet on introducing a reformed
JLC system, leaving workers vulnerable since July.

Competition & Consumer Protection

FG Manifesto: Promised a new “powerful consumer champion”, giving it
“additional powers – by constitutional change if necessary – to break up
public and private sector monopolies and cartels.”

No mention of this in Competition Bill 2011, and no commitment to
constitutional change.

Ban on Corporate Donations

The Programme for Government clearly states “we will introduce the
necessary legal and constitutional provisions to ban corporate donations to
political parties.”

The Bill allows corporate donations to continue and Enda Kenny has
confirmed that there will be no constitutional ban put to the people.

Severance Pay for Senior Civil Servants

There will be no more “golden handshakes” for public servants that have
failed to deliver.

Big payoffs for senior civil servants continue.

Reducing the number of TDs

FG had previously promised to reduce the number of TDs by 20

The Electoral Act proposes a cut of as little as 6 TDs.

Constitution Day

Enda Kenny, April 2011: “We will set out a programme to allow for a series of
constitutional amendments to be decided on what we called “Constitution
day”, to be held within 12 months of the new Government being formed.”

Little mention of it since

The Seanad

Both parties pledged to abolish the Seanad.

There was no mention in the legislative agenda of legislation to scrap the
Seanad.

Child Benefit

During the election campaign Eamon Gilmore identified child benefit as a red
line issue. Labour’s “Every Little Hurts" advertising campaign lambasted Fine
Gael for their proposed cuts in the child benefit rates

Joan Burton has since refused to give an explicit commitment on child benefit
rates.
NOW BEING CUT.

Social Welfare Rates

The Programme for Government clearly states “We will maintain social
welfare rates”

Joan Burton has continuously refused to give an explicit commitment on
headline rates.
National Educational Psychological Service

Ruairi Quinn promised to provide “€3m to reverse the cut in the National
Educational Psychological Service.”

He has made no mention of this commitment since then
Water Charges & Utility Charges

Labour previously said they would be opposed to the introduction of flat rate
water charges “A flat water charge is not something that we’re going to
introduce.”

The government has now admitted that two charges are on the way by 2013,
a flat rate household utility charge (by 2012) and water charges.

Household Charge

“We’re not in favour of a tax on the family home” – Gilmore

July 2011: Phil Hogan announced the introduction of a €100 flat rate
household charge which is to be applied to the 1.6 million households in the
country.

Irish Water

Fine Gael’s plans for the setting up of a new water company introducing water
charges featured heavily in its New Politics policy document published in
March 2010.

However, FG has now admitted that they have no plan for the setting up of
this company, no idea of the timeline involved and have also admitted that
there are significant legal and administrative changes involved in transferring
water services from local authorities to the new water company.

Stag Hunting

FG Manifesto p27: “Fine Gael will reverse the ban on stag hunting”; Junior
Minister Shane McEntee (Meath East) told the Seanad on 25th Oct that
legislation reversing the ban was forthcoming.

8th Nov – Kenny spokesperson: McEntee was “expressing an opinion” and
there was “no commitment” to reverse the ban.

Turf Cutting

Fine Gael Manifesto: “It is premature to cease the cutting of turf for domestic
purposes in 2011”; Roscommon TD Frank Feighan said he would “sign in his
own blood” the future of turf-cutting.

27th Sept: Deenihan signs regulations making turf cutting on Special Areas of
Conservation a criminal offence, and allows for the confiscation of turf cutting machinery.

Climate Change

Programme for Government: “We will publish a Climate Change Bill.”

This was dropped by Phil Hogan in November 2011.

Garda Numbers

Shatter said in December 2010 that a reduction in Garda numbers would
“obstruct the battle against crime”

“The job of this Government is to reduce public expenditure, not to increase it.
That is as applicable across the justice sector as it is in other sectors.”

Triple Lock

FG manifesto: “We believe that the Triple Lock must be modified to allow
Ireland participate in peacekeeping missions. The failure of the UN Security
Council to pass a resolution should not prevent us from taking part in
overseas missions.”

Shatter: “As matters stand the triple lock remains part and parcel of Govt.
policy”.

Government Jet

FG Manifesto: “We will introduce a new code of practice for the use of the
government jet ensuring cost effective and transparent travel. To stamp out
any abuse, cheaper commercial alternatives must be taken when possible.”
Transport spokesperson Simon Coveney said last year: Jets were “being
abused” by Ministers.

Oct 2011: Jet had been used 24 times at a total cost to the taxpayer of almost
€14m, including a trip to Cork for the Taoiseach and a trip to Algeria for
Coveney.

Junior Ministers

FG pledged they would cut the number of junior Ministers to 12.

Once elected they appointed 15 Junior Ministers.

Quangos

Fine Gael pledged to abolish 145 quangos in their document Reinventing
Government.

By end Oct 2011, they had abolished 5, but had created 8.
Guillotining of Legislation

Enda Kenny, July 2010: “I do not accept the Government’s guillotining of Bills
in any shape or form.”

By November 2011 they had guillotined almost a dozen Bills.
Staff in Constituency Offices

FG pledged to reduce ministerial staff allocated to work on constituency
matters to two per Minister

In March 2011 it was announced that ministers will keep 4 staff each in their
constituency office.

Constituency Work

Enda Kenny promised to direct all Ministers to focus entirely on their new
portfolios in the first 100 days and completely avoid constituency work.

However, Kenny himself repeatedly broke this promise with dozens of
appointments in Mayo every week.

Ministers’ Advisors

Ministerial advisors will be subject to salary caps

Most Ministers’ advisors have breached the cap.

Cronyism

They promised an end to cronyism and transparency in board appointments.

FG & Labour members and donors have been appointed as Judges and to
the boards of Quangos.

Transparency in Appointments

FG and Lab Manifestos: They promised vetting of appointments to state
boards by the Oireachtas.

Party political appointments have been made, without any oversight or
transparency. In October 2011, they appointed the former head of AIB
Investment Management as head of the New Era quango, without revealing
her pay or conditions.

Freedom of Information

Programme for Government promised to legislate to restore the Freedom of
Information Act.

No commitment for when legislation will be published on this.

Shush - Don't Tell The Public But...
20th November 2011

They tried to keep it quiet but they failed. The Irish Fine Gael and Labour government cabinet rewarded themselves on October 18th with another perk! They can now have the luxury of being able to drive on bus lanes. They changed the law allowing this via a Dail method which meant it was not mentioned or debated in the chamber.

Meanwhile the former garda drivers who resigned the force so to continue as private drivers, are now recieving state pensions AND driver saleries which are being paid out of TD's expenses - in other words the publics pocket. Therefore we are now paying twice as much! Beat that!

Just quietly done! More daily quiet goings on - nothing to see... move along...

Once Again Fine Gael
Shows Its Ineffectiveness & Two Faces

They made the usual loud noises of supposed anger for the masses, they did the PR vocalising for the people. They promised to take on the banks who failed to pass on a European given interest rate drop. What did they do when it REALLY came to doing anything? NOTHING!
Not only that, not only did they let some banks slip away with non-passing the drop in interest, they even further rewarded the banks taking the pee out of the public, by giving the same said banks a further state guarantee up to December 2012! Instead of holding off such a guarantee till they played ball and let the puic save money to the tune of 80/90 Euro a month, they instead blankly just gave the same money grabbing banks further reward!
For further thoughts on this shambolic farce, here is a good read.

Yet Again Fine Gael & Labour
Hit Out At Vulnerable And Old.

€65 Million Took From Elderly
Wed 13 July

Some things don't change - cuts to fuel, electricity and phone allowances for social welfare recipients, amounting to €65 million annually that Fine Gael & Labour is now bringing in, will have a major detrimental effect on vulnerable older people, charities representing the poor and elderly have said.
The Government yesterday approved cuts in fuel allowance and household benefits schemes affecting more than 630,000 people in receipt of social welfare in a move it says will bring about annual savings of €65 million.
Their gas and electricity allowance are being cut while the cost of the actual bills are going upwards - gas 20% to 30% and electricity by 12%. So the vulnerable are not hit once, twice but three times - as proportional extra charges such as VAT will in added more so on with those increases too!

With an approx of already 2000 deaths annually due to cold related illnesses, this will only bring on more as St Vincent de Paul said. “There will be more people having to make the decision between whether to heat or whether to eat.”

Meanwhile €750 million is yet again to be given to the banks of Ireland later this month. Good to see where yet again where priorities lie with our government!

Irish Times Write-up here.

So Much For Free To Speak In Ireland!
Fine Gael Vote David Norris Silent.

12th July 2011

In a brutal display of silencing any possible opposition, Fine Gael once again showed their true colours via the Galway City council. Along with its head, its FG mayor Hildegard Naughton (who would later try stupidly claim she didn't know what she as voting for!), the council has voted against allowing David Norris to address its September meeting in the hopes of securing the council’s support in the Presidential elections.

Mayor Hildegard Naughton cast the deciding vote against the motion, thereby denying Norris’ request to address the council in the autumn. Seven councillors had voted for, and seven against, the motion. Former Galway mayors Michael Conneally and Michael Crowe both said that they would not support Norris’ request.

They however allowed other independents to get to speak to them however. Lesser candidates whom according to the bookies don't stand much chance of being elected. However, when it come to the one most likely to win should he get his name on the ballot paper, Fine Gael behave like dictator thugs and vote to silence their main opposition.

The anger from the public was immediate and in a later grovellling miserable PR excuse offered by Hildegard Naughton, she tried to claim she didn't know fully what she was voing for! The fact that all she was doing was saying a simple "Yes" or "No" to a question of him being allowed to speak seems even too much for this person it appears! Some questioned Why she was even elected, never mind mayor when she now says she can't even understand a simple vote!
The public backlash was strong and fast at Fine Gaels freedom to speak stomping out actions. Many members of the public across the Irish Internet forums stated they will remember this latest stunt at the next elections!

UN Review Tells Ireland What The Poor Know Already!
22nd May 2011

A UN review of poverty and human rights in Ireland found and stated for the record that the poor will bear the brunt of cuts to public spending and low taxes. Dr Magdalena Sepulveda Carmona, appointed by the UN Human Right’s Council to carry out the review, says present Irish government government policies will have a serious impact on the most vulnerable people in society,
reports the Irish Times.

Carmona stated that the cuts in spending which has an effect on the porr and vunerable, combined with low taxes for the priveleged few which can afford to pay more places, is hitting the poorest the most. She has singled out cuts to human rights bodies like the Irish Human Rights Commission and the Equality Authority, the Ombudsman for Children and the National Disability Authority for criticism, and says that the measures being taken by the government to rescue Ireland’s economy are According to the Irish Examiner she says older people, those living with disability, those in poverty and the unemployed are all being severely disadvantaged, and that the burden should be shared by all in society.

Here we go Again! Old Fianna Fail Ways Return!
The Antics Of Fine Gael And Pat Cox!
5th June 2011

Well it didn't take long. It appears Fine Gael are readying themselves according to reports, to adopt some of the same ways of the Fianna Fail past! Mr Pat Cox, the former president of the European Parliament is to apparently become a member of Fine Gael JUST so that they can then put him forwards as a candidate for the office of president! Is Fine Gael and Pat Cox taking the piss? Talk about looking out for one another and using another for self gain and promotion!
patcox.JPG

This is a man in Admin's opinion, who has his head buried up Europe's ass and its alleged, swaps parties or goes independent like positions were t-shirts to be switched daily - just as long as he gets what he wants and he looks good! Talk about an example of "jobs for the boys". Its a bit hypocritical that a normal party member has to wait 6 months to two years in order just to be able to vote in the Fine Gael selection process, yet as soon as Pat Cox signs up, he can run for president on behalf of the Fine Gael party! Talk about rules to suit some!
He is a shameless opportunist and Fine Gael ordinary members ought to be outraged that their leadership is allowing this blatant disgrace to go ahead! That they, the heads of Fine Gael are allowing this to happen says a lot about how much they are different from Fianna Fail in some respects.
...Not much it seems! One step forward - two steps back!

Germany Got To See Budget Details - Why?
"U-turn Enda" Says It Was Their Constitutional Right!

23rd November 2011

He stated he had to distribute financial documents containing details of the Irish economic plans to German MPs because it is a “constitutional requirement” of the German parliament. Speaking in the Dail yesteday he tried to explain why Irish state affairs should be shown to a foreign country before even Irish elected representatives and the Irish people got to hear or see them.
Many are asking a simple question, why do we need a Dail if a forigne German one is getting president over our own and making decisions for the Irish nation it seems! LINK

Comment: Maybe we also start obeying Irans constitution - what about America's - or England's? Who else's constitution should we now start obeying if thats the claim Enda Kenny wants to start playing as a "Get out of trouble" card!
The previous week he claimed he didn't know how they got it! Talk about different versions of a story! Some say "more lies" - so much for his election day words of "Honesty is not alone our best policy, but our only policy". Those words didn't last long! His credibility is shot to hell. It remains to be seen if the Labour party will decide to go down with him as the Greens did with Fianna Fail. Will they too be that stupid? Time will quickly tell!

Did Mr Kenny tell the public about this constitutional bailout related clause? Did Mr Kenny allow the people to decide of if they could agree to it? Hell no, he didn't! He just signed up to their demands and went ahead with giving our own powers away! Some representative he is!

German Parliment Sees Irish Budget
Before Even Irish People Do And Irish Dail!

18th November 2011

In an amazing turn of events, its was revealed by Reuters, the international press agency, that the German Parliment was able to see the details of Ireland upcoming fiscal tightening budget before evem Irish elected representatives and the people of Ireland could see it!
When asked how the German government knew what the details were, never mind discussing them amid themselves Mr Enda Kenny's responce was "I've no idea." Meanwhile it has emerged that not only Germany got to see Irish budget details according to a report in the Journal.ie (here) but with also 27 other countries ministers. No word as of yet if he will look into the matter of how state details, possibly secrets actualy managed to get to the German parliment for discussion. Given Mr Kenny's and FG's recent previous history of dropping the persuing of matters, its considered unlikely that answers will be forth coming and the matter will be quietly dropped by Fine Gael and Labour from the public's scrutiny - if the government can help it!

Further details for example, can be found in the following reports: HERE HERE and HERE.

...Meanwhile Fine Gael Give Away €800 Million
To Unsecured & Unguaranteed Bond Holders Of Anglo Bank.
July 14th 2011

In a stunning two fingers to the people of Ireland while they are getting the legs cuts from under them, Fine Gael and Labour have gone ahead and rewarded others with €800 million they were not obliged to pay off! Anglo Irish Bank bond holders who gambled, have had their gamble pay off as if on a sure thing. Its speculated in certain Dublin circles that a good number of those in politics were heavy investors in the Anglo Bank!

€10,000 For This Plain Crap?
16/03/2011

The above picture is has been announced, is to reside in the Dail to the cost of €10,000 to the Irish people. According to a poll done by The Journal.ie news site, nearly 50% would rather it was crushed (see here) - and Amin' has to agree! Who on earth authorised that €10,000 be paid for this image of a very questionable man? There is better drawn paintings on display in St Stephens Green Shopping Centre in Dublin. Surely one of those artists could have been seleceted to do such work anyway - and going on the prices of their work in the centre, they wouldn't have charged so much!
Either someone is taking the pee out of the public and/or Fianna Fail are trying to have a last laugh as they even refuse to leave Dail rooms (see here) they are no longer entitled to have!
Who authorised this image!

Day Two of the 13th Dail
Morning Money Stunt to Start Off With?

It seems Fine Gael are off to a flying start in the money stakes. However it appears just to be according to many in an on-line poll, just a poor PR stunt and a sad joke of one at that. Claiming that they have lowered their own wages, in reality what Fine Geal have done is reduced their pay by a very low token amount. Once again showing that what political promises are said - and what is actually done, is two very different things.

...And So It Begins...
25th Feb' 2011

It seems Enda Kenny even before he has gotten into government office might be already laying down demands upon the public and those voting on election day. According to the Kilkenny Advertiser he "told voters that at the last election they had not stepped up to the mark and had not brought a second Fine Gael seat to Carlow Kilkenny and he warned that this time, unless two seats were secured for the constituency that there was no guarantee of a senior ministerial position for the electoral area."
Well talk about putting a gun to their head, so to speak. In other words, cough up, vote for Fine Gael or else! This type of attitude does not bode well for the future! You can read the Kilkenny Advertiser news piece here.
